Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the most spectacular new ground in the country, a wall of noise on a European night with the single-tier South Stand behind one goal. Here is how to do a matchday in N17.

Getting there

The stadium sits in Tottenham, north London, on the site of the old White Hart Lane. White Hart Lane station on the Overground is almost at the turnstiles; Seven Sisters and Tottenham Hale (both Victoria line) are 15 to 20 minute walks. There is no matchday parking, and the area operates a controlled parking zone, so rail and Tube are the only sensible way in.

The away end

Away supporters are housed in the South Stand lower, beneath the huge single-tier home end. The ground is steep and close to the pitch, and the acoustics are excellent, so it is a loud away day. Give yourself time; the approach funnels big crowds toward the station.

Around the ground

The stadium dominates the High Road, with the club shop, the Tottenham Experience and food and drink options around the concourse. It is a modern ground done properly, and a genuinely impressive one to tick off. On non-matchdays the stadium tour, including the Dare Skywalk, is among the best in the league.
