Swansea, United Kingdom · matchday guide
The Swansea.com Stadium is a tidy modern bowl on the edge of the city, and the Swans crowd, drummer and all, keep it lively on a good day. Here is how to do a matchday in Swansea.
Getting there
The stadium sits beside a retail park a mile or two from the centre, just off the M4. Swansea rail station is around a 30 to 40 minute walk, but frequent buses run out to the ground in around 15 minutes, and there is a club park-and-ride. The stadium car park is largely permit-only and nearby residential parking is enforced, so the bus or park-and-ride is the sensible move.
The away end
Away supporters are housed in the North Stand, behind one goal, with an allocation of around 2,000 that can be extended for bigger games. The vocal home support gathers in the North and East corner, so expect noise coming back. Turn up in good time for the searches.
Around the ground
The setting is industrial and retail-park rather than terraced streets, with the Ivor Allchurch statue and the club Hall of Fame outside the ground. There are a few chain options nearby, but most fans do their pre-match drinking in the city centre. A modern one to tick off, with Swansea's coast worth building a weekend around.
