Stamford Bridge
London, United Kingdom · matchday guide
Stamford Bridge has been Chelsea's home since 1905, hemmed into the streets of west London with the Shed End behind one goal. Here is how to do a matchday in SW6.
Getting there
Stamford Bridge sits in Fulham, west London. Fulham Broadway on the District line is a two-minute walk from the turnstiles, and West Brompton and Imperial Wharf are short walks if the Broadway is busy. There is no matchday parking around the ground, so the Tube is the way in.
The away end
Away supporters are housed in the Shed End lower, behind the goal. It is a tight, old-school ground with the stands close to the pitch, so it makes for a proper away day. Fulham Broadway funnels big crowds, so give yourself time.
Around the ground
The walk in from Fulham Broadway runs past the megastore, the hotel and the food stalls, with the ground boxed in by streets and the railway. That squeeze is part of its character. A classic London ground to tick off.
