Loftus Road
London, United Kingdom · matchday guide
Loftus Road is one of the tightest, steepest grounds in London, stands right on top of the pitch on all four sides, and QPR make it a loud, old-school West London away day. Here is how to do a matchday in W12.
Getting there
Loftus Road sits in a tight grid of residential streets in Shepherd's Bush. White City on the Central line is the closest Tube, around five to 10 minutes' walk, with Shepherd's Bush and Wood Lane not much further. There is effectively no matchday parking in the narrow streets, so the Tube is the only sensible way in.
The away end
Away supporters are housed in the upper tier of the School End, behind one goal, and it is a small allocation of around 1,300. The stands are so close to the pitch that even a modest away following makes itself heard. Give yourself time; the tight approaches funnel everyone toward the same turnstiles.
Around the ground
The pre-match pubs are around Shepherd's Bush Green, with Belushi's the main away option and a few others nearby. It is a compact, intense, proper old ground boxed into its streets, a real contrast to the big modern bowls. A characterful London one to tick off.
