Elland Road
Leeds, United Kingdom · matchday guide
Elland Road is one of English football's great atmospheric grounds, and Leeds in full voice can be as loud as anywhere. Here is how to do a matchday in LS11.
Getting there
Elland Road sits a couple of miles southwest of Leeds city centre. There is no station at the ground, so most fans take a matchday shuttle bus from the city centre, walk it in around 35 to 40 minutes, or use one of the park-and-ride options. Leeds station is well connected by rail. Parking near the ground is limited and stewarded.
The away end
Away supporters are housed in the South Stand, behind the goal. Elland Road is a tight, steep ground and the home crowd in the Kop makes itself heard, so it is a proper away day. Arrive in good time for the searches and the walk from the shuttle drop-off.
Around the ground
The ground has the old-school feel, hemmed in by the ring road with the Billy Bremner statue outside. Matchday around Elland Road is burger vans, flags and a walk past the Kop. One of the grounds that feels like a real away day, well worth ticking off.
