Cardiff City Stadium
Cardiff, United Kingdom · matchday guide
Cardiff City Stadium brings a big, vocal Bluebirds crowd, and on a derby day the atmosphere in the Welsh capital has a real edge. Here is how to do a matchday in Cardiff.
Getting there
The stadium sits in Leckwith, a little west of the city centre. From Cardiff Central it is around a 25 minute walk, a short taxi, or a bus along the main routes. The local Ninian Park station is about five minutes from the ground, and Grangetown is roughly 10. On-site matchday parking is limited, so rail or a walk in from town is the sensible move.
The away end
Away supporters are housed in a corner of the ground, tucked between the stands rather than in a single full end, with an allocation that is usually somewhere around 1,800 for league games. The concourse is spacious and the acoustics are decent for a corner. Check your club's travel details for the exact section before you go.
Around the ground
There are few away-friendly pubs right by the stadium, so most visiting fans drink in the city centre, which is compact and lively, or at the ground itself where the concourse serves ale. Cardiff makes a good weekend away with plenty going on in town. A well-connected one to tick off.
