Bramall Lane
Sheffield, United Kingdom · matchday guide
Bramall Lane is one of the oldest grounds in world football still in use, and Sheffield United in full voice make it a loud, old-school away day. Here is how to do a matchday in S2.
Getting there
Bramall Lane sits about a mile south of Sheffield city centre, a 15 to 25 minute walk from the station through town. The Supertram stops at Granville Road, roughly 10 minutes from the ground, and buses run from the station too. Parking nearby is limited and stewarded, so the walk or the tram is the easy option.
The away end
Away supporters are housed in the lower tier of the Bramall Lane Stand, at one end of the ground, holding up to around 3,000. It is a traditional ground with the stands close to the pitch, so a good travelling support makes itself heard. Give yourself time for the searches.
Around the ground
The pubs right by the ground are strictly home-only, so away fans tend to drink in the city centre, which has a strong pub scene around Division Street and the station. It is a proper northern football city, and Bramall Lane's history makes it a cracking one to tick off.
