Ashton Gate has grown into one of the smartest grounds outside the top flight, and Bristol City on a good day fill it with proper Championship noise. Here is how to do a matchday in BS3.
Getting there
Ashton Gate sits south of the river in Bedminster, a couple of miles from Bristol city centre. The nearest station is Parson Street, about a 15 minute walk, with extra trains before kickoff and a short hop from Temple Meads. A matchday shuttle bus runs from Parson Street, and local buses serve the ground too. Parking right by the stadium is residents-permit and limited, so the train or a park-and-walk is the sensible move.
The away end
Away supporters are housed in the Atyeo Stand, behind one goal at the south end, now given over wholly to visiting fans. It is a modern, steep stand with good sightlines and decent acoustics, and a full allocation makes itself heard. Turn up in good time for the searches.
Around the ground
North Street in Bedminster is lined with good independent pubs and generally has a mixed, welcoming feel before a game. The harbourside back toward town is lively too if you are making a day of it. A well-run, buzzy modern-ground matchday to tick off your list.
